Bloom where you are planted!
by Beth Fiscus | 8 years ago
Good morning all! Beth from the DCWV Social Media Design Team here with you today. I made this beautiful piece of wall art to share with you.
Here are is how I created it. The papers I used are from DCWV's 12"x18" DIY Project Stack: Large Flowers. Instead of using the templates included in that stack, I opted to use an SVG file of a large peony flower and cut it on my Silhouette Cameo. I increased the size to cover most of the 8x10 frame.
The flower pieces I spritzed with water on both sides and crumpled/shaped them the way I wanted them to look. Since the paper is double sided, it looks great no matter what side is showing! Once they were dry, I assembled them using hot glue between the layers.
To prep the frame, I removed the cardboard backing and the tabs that were holding it in place. I hot glued the glass into the frame.
I used E6000 glue to adhere the leaves and flower to the glass frame.
For the final touch, I cut the word "Bloom" out of black vinyl and added it to the bottom of the glass.
Once again, here is the finished product!
I hoped you have a wonderfully crafty day!
